Real Life Superhero?
Created by jena on 10/14/2011 10:31:53 AM

In Seattle, masked civilian "superheros" are apparently part of everyday life.

On Thursday, October 13th this self-proclaimed superhero had his day in court.

Phoenix Jones, whose real name is Ben Fodor, was arrested early last Sunday

after he tried to break up what appeared to be a fight and was allegedly attacked and then retaliated with pepper spray.

He showed up in court wearing a mask, and his superhero uniform underneath his button-down shirt.

The court officer requested that he remove his mask.

Prosecutors said they'd need more time to decide if they'll file charges against Jones,

but a police spokesman Mark Jamieson suggested that the public shy away from such heroics, saying,

"If people want to dress up and walk around, knock yourself out. Our concern is when you insert yourself into these situations without knowing the facts, it's just not a smart thing to do. If you think a situation warrants calling 911, call 911."
